This homeowner's large walk-out basement was already being used for recreation, including the hot tub located in the glass sunroom. But the space was largely unfinished and wasn't a very inviting place to be. Our plan was to finish off the basement to make it feel more like any other room in the house.
We designed a fully functional kitchen adjacent to the stairwell and poker table area. Dura Supreme cherry cabinetry provides ample storage, and a bank of lighted glass-front cabinets displays a collection at the bar area nearby. Countertops are solid surfacing except at the island where a slab of polished granite highlights the space.
Recessed lighting was installed in the new suspended ceiling, and a new hardwood floor stretches from the kitchen past the poker and pool tables to the patio door beyond. The stairwell was modified by adding new handrails, balusters and newel posts to create a more gracious entry.
