By installing a two new beams to carry second floor loads, we were able to remove the wall separating the old kitchen from the dinette. Now the new kitchen wraps into the addition bump-out with white-painted and coffee-glazed maple Dura Supreme cabinetry. For a focal point, the island cabinetry is stained cherry, which includes a raised breakfast bar, turned posts and bookshelf units.

New solid-surfacing countertops provide abundant areas for food prep and cleanup, and stainless steel appliances lend a modern touch. New oak hardwood flooring was installed throughout the space, and a larger pair of windows at the entry allows in more light and provides a better view of the new entry porch and beyond.
