This concrete block home had been remodeled some years ago, but the front entry porch and rear covered deck were in serious need of repair. Inside, a compact kitchen and dinette area made for challenging living spaces. Our clients asked us to expand the space and update the look.
Our renovation started by increasing the first floor footprint with a modest-sized addition. A small bump-out contains the expanded kitchen, and a half-octagon shaped sun-room stretches out into the backyard. Several banks of casement windows and a new patio door allow daylight to fill this wonderful new room.
On the exterior we installed new architectural shingles, and new vinyl siding wraps both the existing home and the new addition for a unified look. A new brick facade and front entry porch complete the exterior transformation.
