Inside, the new addition provides for a larger dining area as well as a cozy seating space near a pair of large new in-swinging French windows. To make the arrangement work, we relocated the lower half of the existing stairway, aligning it parallel to the upper section. Towards the back of the space, a new family room looks out to the backyard through the new sliding French patio door.
New large-scale ceramic tile was used throughout the space, and a row of awning windows installed higher on the wall screen the neighbor's house while letting in abundant sunshine.
